MUZEUM MIEJSKIE W ŻYWCU
Od roku 2005 siedzibą Muzeum Miejskiego jest Stary Zamek.
Zwiedzający mogą tu oglądać wystawy stałe, takie jak: „Historia
i tradycja miasta Żywca”, archeologiczną, wystawę narzędzi tortur,
wystawę „Ptaki i ssaki Żywiecczyzny”, „Kultura ludowa Żywiecczyzny”
oraz wystawy czasowe. Dla dzieci i młodzieży szkolnej przygotowana została bogata oferta edukacyjna. W muzeum znajdują się także biblioteka naukowa wraz z czytelnią, pracownia konserwatorska oraz Kawiarnia Rycerska.
The Old Castle has been the seat of the City Museum since 2005. Visitors will enjoy the permanent exhibitions covering such subjects as the history and traditions of the city of Żywiec, local archaeology implements of torture, the birds and mammals of the Żywiec Lands the folk Culture of the Żywiec Lands, as well as temporary exhibitions. A rich variety of education programmes is available for school-aged children, and the Museum also houses an academic library with reading room, a conservation workshop, and the Rycerska cafe.
