KOŚCIÓŁ PW. ŚW. KRZYŻA
nazywany również kościołem Trzech Krzyży, zbudowany w XIV w. jest najstarszą budowlą gotycką
w Żywcu. W XVIII w. kościół przebudowano w stylu barokowym. Z dawnego
wyposażenia zachowało się wiele przykładów sztuki gotyckiej m.in. obrazy: Zdjęcie
z Krzyża i Madonna
z poziomką- rzeźba -św.Anna Samotrzecia.Na zewnątrz kościoła widzimy figurkę kamienną Św.
Jana Nepomucena. Przy absydzie znajduje się Kalwaria
z Ukrzyżowanym Chrystusem i łotrami po dwóch jego stronach. Są to barokowe rzeźby

On the apse, there is a scene of Calvary with the Crucifixion of Christ and the Two Thieves by his side, executed in polychrome wood in the Baroque style.

zbudowana z kamienia w latach 1723–1724 staraniem Franciszka Wielopolskiego na miejscu poprzedniej drewnianej z roku 1582, która spłonęła w czasie pożaru miasta w 1721 r. Dzwonnica ma kształt kwadratowy jest czterokondygnacyjna, pokryta dachem w kształcie namiotu. Na szczycie znajduje się ruchomy kogucik wskazujący kierunki wiejącego wiatru, a poniżej chorągiewka z herbem Wielopolskich – „Starykoń” i datą 1723. Najwyższe piętro z dużymi otworami w ścianach stanowi pomieszczenie dla dzwonów. Na dzwonnicy znajdują się również pamiątkowe tablice poświęcone ważnym, dla miasta i kraju, wydarzeniom historycznym.

“Starykoń” figure, the emblem of the Wielopolski family

constructed from stone between 1723–1724 thanks
to the efforts of Franciszek Wielopolski in place of the
former wooden bell tower dating from 1582, which
burned down during a fire in the city in 1721. The bell
tower is square in shape with four storeys, covered with
RELAKS IMPREZYdated 1723.b The highest storey of the tower is pierced by
a tent-shaped roof crowned with a rooster-shaped
weather vane and just below a pennant with the
large openings and houses the bells. There is also a plaque on the tower commemorating events which have had an important historic impact on the city and the country.
